I recommend the Jullian french easel because of the quality and durability. You might find cheaper "french" easels but they will break down faster.

Liquitex Heavy Body Professional Acrylics, 2 oz
Liquitex Heavy Body Artist Acrylic Colors (previously called High Viscosity) are professional-quality acrylics that have an exceptionally smooth, thick, buttery consistency, ideal for traditional art techniques that employ brushes.
A high pigment load produces rich, brilliant, permanent color, combined with good surface drag that provides excellent handling and blending characteristics with increased open working time. I am familiar with Liquitex paint because when I started using acrylics they were the only ones in the store. They are high quality paint and I have canvases that are 30 years old and show no cracked paint or fading of colors. However I am not saying that Liquitex are the best. There are other artists that say that Golden acrylics have better colors. For my painting demonstrations I am using Liquitex in tubes and Apple Barrel acrylics in bottles.
The colors needed are: Burnt Sienna: Used for painting soil, trees, wood, buildings..... Burnt Umber: Same use as above Cadmium Red Medium: Used for sunsets, flowers, making orange when mixed with yellow.... Cadmium Yellow Medium: Mixed with white to make light yellow, with phthalo blue to make green, with red to make orange. Cobalt Blue: used generaly for painting the nice blue sky. Very expensive but you can buy this color in "Apple barrel" in bottle for a lot less that works almost as good. Ultramarine Blue (Red Shade): Used for clouds, sky reflections on water, waterfalls, ocean foam, represents white in the shade.... Phthalo Blue (Green Shade): Background color of the oceans, water. Mixed with yellow to make green... Deep Magenta: Used for sunsets, usualy mixed with white to make a lighter color, flowers, mixed with yellow to make another orange color.... Dioxazine Purple: used for impressionist shading in landscapes, clouds, sunsets. Usualy mixed with white Mars Black: Darkest black but changes the color of the paint it is added to. Ivory Black: More translucent black. Changes less the colors. Payne's Gray: Neutral gray. Used for toning down color brightness without changing the color like blacks do. It is actualy an ivory black mixed with some ultramarine blue. Titanium White: Bright white, mixed with other colors.
The colors above are basic. They can be used to mix all the other Liquitex colors available for sale. You can buy the other colors if you don't want to mix them. I demonstrate the use of these colors in videos 1, 2 and 3.
For beginers you can buy a set of basic colors like 6 or 12 color box and experiment to see if you can paint and move on to more expensive tubes later. Also cheaper colors in bottles like "Apple Barrel" paint are available and I have many videos showing how I use them to make beautiful paintings at an affordable cost. These paints are ideal for practice but are low quality.

Mix with Phthalo blue for making green. -Deep Yellow: Is a yellow orange. This color can be obtained by mixing chrome yellow with some magenta. -Cobalt Blue: For painting the blue sky. Mixed yellow to make another green. -Green Oxide: For leaves. Can be mixed from yellow and phthalo blue and black....Mix with yellow and white to make a brighter green -Magenta: For sunsets, mix with yellow for making orange. Mix with Blue to make purple, or for flowers... -Mars Black: For darker colors, Mix with white to make gray.... -Phthalo Blue: Oceans and make green by mixing with yellow.... -Titanium White: Makes lighter colors.... -Ultramarine Blue: Great color for painting clouds, waterfalls, white in the shade....You can mix similar with cobalt blue and a little bit of magenta. -Violet: For sunset clouds and reflections, flowers. Can be made by mixing blues and magenta.
